I would like to have toggle for the new "translate as you type" feature as I don't really need it and would like to save Kagi's resources

This could be simple toggle in the Translate page for logged in users or in the http://kagi.com/settings page

I very much agree. I don't see any benefit personally for this feature (BY WHICH I MEAN: I'm glad it's there for the people who want to use it.) But for me, it'd like to be able to turn it off.

Either via a toggle on the translate page itself or via the settings page

Honestly I've found the animation it does each time it refreshes the text to be very annoying. So even just for that it'd want to disable it

          Hello.
I am using kagi translate, but the translation stops halfway through.
After redoing the translation several times, the translation of the whole text is completed.
I would appreciate it if you could correct the problem.
          Thank you very much.

Hi, when I try to translate the page https://www.xinmedia.com/article/114640, I get the error

Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information).

            macOS 15.2, Safari 18.2

            Regression:

            • Same error with and without content blockers

            • Same error in Orion 0.99.130.1-beta (macOS)

            • Google Translate succeeds

            • Safari macOS built-in translation succeeds

              Thanks!

For example when I translate the word "wife" in Latin, I get "uxor" which is correct
But when I type "the wife's son", I get "filius uxoris" it misses the vowels's length that changed because the grammatical case (it should be fīlius uxōris)

I know it's a minor thing, but it would be nice to have at least an option to show the correct orthography

DeoConfidimus We have not optimized for latin at this point as there is not a lot of interest to justify the investment, but we can certainly do so in the future.

pivic This should be fixed as both use the same API now.

Something I just found out is that Portuguese (Brazil) and Portuguese (Portugal) have the exact same Brazilian pronunciation when tapping the TTS button

Would it be possible to register Kagi Translate as a translation provider on Android so it can be used from apps that recognize those? DeepL's Android app for example is set up this way.

Sorry if this was suggested already, a big fat thread with elements that aren't loading if they're not in the viewport doesn't make searching all that easy.

@Vlad in general I 💚 Kagi translate, but the last two days it seems to have stopped working altogether. Just endless crawling-three-dots where the translation should appear. Doesn't seem to matter what platform or browser I'm using (data points: Orion and Firefox and Safari in MacOS, Orion in iOS), nor which languages I'm trying to use. What happened? Did someone knock the translate server plug out from the wall?

Uno-Selecta I am not able to reproduce this. Any more details?

Donno what other details I could provide; are there logs I should look at or something?

I can show you what I'm seeing. Here's Orion on MacOS:

And here's Safari on the same machine—first with Kagi translate, then with Google translate:

                          And here's Orion in iOS:
