Just a classic URL shortener with none of the tracking involved. It would be convenient to share straight from a search and could help get the Kagi service out there and show that the user has little to no interest in tracking the link followers.

  1. A user searches
  2. Finds the results they're looking for
  3. Selects the ellipses to the right
  4. The popup menu includes an option near summarize that includes a short link https://kagi/.. link created and copied to the clipboard once the user selects an icon for sharing

None (or at the most a count of clicks) of the common tracking information found in other commercial shortened links is part of the feature.

themortalcoil Just to clarify what is it that you would be trying to share there?

(if search results page you can already do this through the More... menu on the toolbar)

Browsing6853 There is no tracking involved, it is a token that allows the link to be shared publicly (as otherwise the user would be sent to the login page).

@themortalcoil can you clarify the ask?

Yeah, I know. Just saying what other people may think about.

Also, visually it looks much nicer to have a short link. it also means it can be verbally shared

            No one is typing
