I wanted to contribute a web "magazine" reader that I had created which people may find helpful: https://github.com/ventz/kagi-news (MIT License).

It would be really neat to have this (or something like it) as an option on the web reader of Kagi News at https://news.kagi.com

It would be completely optional and not replace the existing reader in any way. It could even be a "beta" feature.

It allows you to choose from the 171 custom Kagi categories and generates a stunning web magazine where you can flip through pages like a book. It makes consuming the news a pleasure.

It includes the whole articles, sources/references/direct links, it can be read like a magazine, which you can flip through with your finger (or click with a mouse or keyboard): Kagi News Magazine

The github repo has the technical features, but some of them are:

Every category, on a switch. Kagi offers 171 — from World and Business
to Bulgaria, Metal Music, Watches & Horology and USA | Boston. All 171
live in your config file; you tick the ones you want.
Uses the rich feed. The JSON feeds carry far more than the RSS: images with
captions and credits, perspectives with their sources, timelines, a pull quote
with attribution, and a long tail of per-topic angle fields. RSS is the
automatic fallback if a category's JSON is unavailable.
Prints the whole story. Talking points, background, timeline, business
angle, technical detail, what-happens-next — each one a section you can switch
off globally if you'd rather not read it.
Keeps the sources. Kagi's inline [domain#n] citations become numbered
superscripts that link to a numbered source list at the foot of the article.
Archives offline. Every image is downloaded and stored under its sha256.
A built edition opens by double-clicking index.html, with no server and no
network, and still works when the original image URLs have expired.
Never destroys a good edition. A run publishes atomically; a broken fetch
leaves this morning's paper intact.
