Searching for famous people, I often get a weird answer (with an equals sign, so I think it's Wolfram-provided) with no more information than the Wikipedia box contains, and furthermore the way the text is wrapped leads to words being broken across lines.

Time zones searched return in an array of offsets from UTC instead of a Name (Continent/Region) or UTC+[OFFSET]

I like the way Google shows it which includes the time and name of each timezone as well:

When searching for an event, for this example I use "Palm Sunday", the result appears to use a value from a previous year.
For an event that doesn't occur on the same date every year this can be misleading:

The above result is for 2020. It does specify "2020", though I still think this is misleading as there's an obvious focus on the "April 5" tile.

When directly querying Wolfram Alpha, the results provided are in context of the current year (As expected):

When searching population density, WA displays the number in square miles. Because my region is Canada, it should be displayed in square kilometres

Here is an example of a nonsensical Wolfram result: for 1 sol to usd it assumes sol is a Martial solar day, not the Solana cryptocurrency. (It does the correct thing for BTC and ETH, although I don't know how up to date its prices are.)

I wanted to look up the differences between patents in germany and the US, but wolfram had another idea

Looking at how wolfram alpha interpreted it, it would have been a fun statistic, but as the kagi widget is too stripped down it looked nonsensical

Value7609 The full API gifves more context (you can click through to this in the info box) https://www.wolframalpha.com/input?i=german+patents+vs+us+patents but we are not using it due to latency. The response given by the API we use could certainly be better in this case.

Vlad yeah like I already mentioned in my comment, the answer that would have been available could hav been a nice fun fact.

But I think what you could at least check in your low latency response is, if you could include the left side of the equals sign.

For simple calculations it is clear what the left side is, most often the query provided by the user, but in this case the left side was definitely not clear, it could have made more sense if it said 'german patents per year' = ...

But idk if the low latency api provides the "left side"

Personally I have not gained any benefit from the Wolfram Alpha integration and feel that my Kagi experience has been worse since it has been rolled out. Typically when a WA response is displayed I would rather have seen a calculator / the computer widget or the first result below the WA response. Since I'm assuming this costs Kagi extra money it seems like it would be in both of our interest if I could opt out.

Can we please roll back to the computer widget for currency conversion and simple arithmetic queries?

The calculator widget has higher accuracy when it comes to currency conversion, yet Kagi uses Wolfram which is often outdated.

52.6 + 5% doesn't trigger the expected calculation (where as 52 + 5% does)

I noticed that Wolfram|Alpha does not trigger consistently on famous people. For example, it triggers on Joe Biden

but not on Donald Trump.

It triggers on Jake Paul

but not his older brother Logan Paul (who is also famous).

The information provided by Wolfram is also rather sparse, only containing their full name, date of brith, and place of birth. For major public figures, they should have more contextual information about their fame.

When typing in a currency conversion search, instead of the old calculator widget I now get the Wolfram one, which rounds up the result

I don't want to know how much is it "approximately", I need to see the exact result. Wolfram is useless in this case.

I must say that I do not like the new currency conversion widget too much. It doesn't show the full copy-able result and cuts off digits.
