I like to see what’s recently published on the web about topics I search. I end up using “recency” filter that works for about first page or two of the search results.

Is there a way to have this filter stickied as default so every time I search on Kagi, it will sort my results by date - newest to oldest. Hopefully this can be improved to go beyond first page or two of results displayed.

This will enable all kinds of filters to stay on by default if people prefer to search in a specific way all the time.

Do you think this is Lense-able? I'm genuinely curious - this smells like a lens type problem.

maurs to much embarrassment, I have never “got” lenses. I know people use them but I don’t know how to and what they are meant to do. I never used them.

Use cases seem to be about people needing specific websites or types of websites. But I feel what Kagi is good at is - showing me everything from everywhere.

When Vlad made a stance a few times against removing DDG or Yandex or others as sources I totally understood him. Kagi brings data from everywhere and then ranks them for me. So I like that. I don’t want to limit my search to a few websites or few types of websites. Google did that for a long time for me and it seemed I lacked perspective.

Kagi helps me read about a topic from a wide range of sources. But I am happy to be educated about lenses and how they can do this whole recency thing.

I'm feel very much in the same boat regarding not really getting lenses (which is why i asked). I feel very "i get the concept and it feels very valuable, but i haven't wrapped my head around how to integrate it into a workflow." so to speak.

Curious to see where this goes 🙂

Hey @marcel001122 as maurs pointed out, Lenses should address that use case. They allow you to do much more than just search a limited list of websites.

When creating a Lens, you can define your search query and a date range to see what's recently published for a that query,

Let us know if that would solve your problem.

Luis Thanks! I checked this out after suggestion earlier but it’s not the same. The recency filter allows to order the posts by what’s posted today to earlier in time.

The date range is lenses is similar to “past 24 hours” or “past one month” or “past one year” date range filter but that doesn’t order the output.

Maybe an option for - always order by “recency” within lenses? I spotted that there is always show verbatim option in lenses search settings as “Verbatim mode”. Verbatim vs personalised is also a filter but has made its way to lenses search settings page.

Would be great to have other filters make their way to lenses search settings page as modes as “always do X” where X is filter choices.
