I really like the AI summary feature overall but one thing I noticed happened several times was that it would generate the summary and would be autoexpanding as the summary was being generated. This resulted in the linked results for the search being continually pushed downwards making it difficult to interact.

It would be nice to have this take up a fixed amount of space until the summary is manually expanded.

I was initially going to fully agree with the report but having considered the options, I think the current behavior, especially on desktop kind of makes sense. On one hand, wouldn't you be wanting to see the entire summary as you have deliberately triggered the quick answer either by ending your query with a question mark or by pressing q, making the actual search results less important. On the other hand, I understand how moving interface elements can be annoying and detrimental to the user experience.

However, since the entire quick answer feature requires user input before activating, I'd say the current behavior works as intended and I'd be more annoyed by having to press show more after I having intentionally asked Kagi quick answer to answer the question.

sg4545 In addition to what "laiz" #p26904 mentioned, you can achieve already your intended behaviour: once you collapse the quick-answer, it will remain collapsed the next time you trigger it. Note: you can use Q to expand/collapse it more easily.

I'll mark this thread nofix. Pls let us know if this doesn't address your problem.
