Are there any plans for adding image translation functionality (for like, pictures of signs, screenshots etc)?
That's literally the only reason I still have google translate on my phone RN, as every other functionality I used there is already in Kagi Translate (btw. Congrats for implementing so many features in such a short time)

Would it be possible to pick a different voice gender? It would make more sense for example, to be able to manually select a male voice for a sentence with a male verb form, and vice versa. Even better if it automatically detects and preselects the correct one. I guess you could also tie it to the "Gender Preferences" speaker/addressee, under the settings popup.

Another thing: I have noticed that I am seeing the "Unlock 1Password" button now, in the "Brief context for translation" input, and it is covering the remaining characters count. I don't recall that being an issue before the redesign.

I have three feedbacks:

1) Unfortunately kagi translate does not work for me with privacy pass turned on (doesn't show as logged in)
2) Instead of preceeding a url by 'translate.kagi.com/' to translate it is it possible to just use a bang in front of the url to translate to default language?
3) more integration into the browser would be great, for instance highlight some text on a webpage and get a translation overlaid

a) Support with PP is on the roadmap, we hope to get it fully working with Translate soon.
b) For feedback about bangs, could you please open a separate thread with your suggestion? This one is more about the translate app - while bangs are part of Kagi Search. Thanks!

FYI, I just translated the word 'trigger' from English to Swedish:

The problem as displayed in the image pop-up: 'trycke' is not a commonly used word nor is it easily understood. I'm a native Swede and I've never before heard the word. I asked a few other native Swedish speakers around me if they'd ever heard the word and all of them either said no or said no and then asked me if I'm sure the word exists.

pivic Hey, thanks for the feedback. You're right, 'trycke' isn't a commonly used or easily understood word. The problem is that most LLMs seem to think it is, even when confronted about it. It's an interesting problem; somewhere in the training data, 'trycke' must be mentioned. We'll look into adding more post-processing steps to avoid these kinds of hallucinations.

Giorgio According to my tests, in Twitter, Reddit, Lemmy texts, and in irregularly scattered texts—where there are many subjects and adjectives in sentences—as well as in game texts and poems.

Good day, I have observed that certain phrasal verbs lack definitions. Aside from this, I believe Kagi Translate has already surpassed most, if not all, of its competitors.

I also have a suggestion to offer:
When a portion of a sentence is selected, could the definition of the selected word or structure within that context be displayed? In the image below, the idea would be to define "conventionally" based on the surrounding text (not necessarily the entire text).

Phrasal verbs should now always get their definition. As for your other suggestion, it's on the roadmap (previously suggested by the good RoxyRoxyRoxy) and it will be released soon. Glad you are liking translate!
