[deleted] My post was in the context of the feature request to allow users to suppress any indices they want from search results. My aim was to illustrate how this feature request was relevant to my personal decisionmaking on whether to continue to pay for my subscription to Kagi.
I also gave a clear example of results that have URLs ending in .ru diluting the overall quality of the searches that I run. All else aside, I don't want to have a portion of my subscription to go towards serving these irrelevant results to me.
The what-about-ism of your comment saying how misinformation can be found anywhere, including Google, isn't germane to the feature request. If this feature were implemented, we all would have an option to perform searches with Google index excluded if we chose to, and I think that would be awesome.
Either way, for me personally, the ability not to contribute to Russia's GDP through use of the Yandex index is the most important factor in whether I'll be renewing my membership.
As a footnote, TLD suppression doesn't seem to work in "Lenses" -- so I don't have the ability to exclude results from .ru domains. Here's the thread about that issue. I'm not aware of a fix yet.
