This actually already exists, but does not seem to get applied to all search results.

For example if I search for ssh linux only about a third of the results include highlights.

Most searches I have made on Kagi have no highlighting of the search terms whatsoever. It's a missing feature that makes parsing the search results more difficult. Both Google and Bing have this feature out of the box.

I am a new Kagi subscriber, and am finding that I am so used to being able to parse a search results page (separate the wheat from the chafe using bold terms), that I cannot use Kagi at all.

A search for the "make search terms bold" setting brought me here.

Can anyone help clarify this? Is this an existing feature, a known issue with an existing feature, a non-existing feature, a feature request?

brucegr My understanding is that this feature is not currently implemented and the under review status on this means that they are currently gauging community interest for this feature request. There have been other threads about this recently like #4354 which also express interest in this so hopefully they'll implement this.

Please highlight instances of keywords that were matched in search results.

This will reduce the amount of time users spend trying to find relevant pages, as results with matched keywords will be clearly visible. Currently, users (myself included) may use their browser's search tool to further search results, but neither Chromium nor Firefox are capable of searching for multiple terms simultaneously (without extensions). This issue is especially prevalent when pages with only one or two keywords are ranked higher than those with more.

Pages without all keywords being ranked higher than others is not the subject of this post, but I may create another forum topic about it later.

Users will see matched keywords in a different CSS style than the rest of search results, ideally in a combination of colour and bold text.

Baidu, DuckDuckGo, and Google have this feature, but Baidu's implementation is vastly superior. If you implement this, please add a CSS class for it, so tweaking the appearance of matched keywords will be trivial. Additionally, some people may not want this, so it should be enabled by default, but can be disabled in settings.

+1, this is one of the few features of other search engines that I find myself missing using Kagi when I'm trying to quickly scan results. I also like that other search engines (like Google) emphasize not only the exact keyword, but also other forms of the keyword. For example, test will also result in testing, tested, etc to be emphasized.
Also, it seems like this may be the same issue as #4354

Jesal That's interesting. Before posting this topic, the forum's search feature didn't show that one.
