Having the shield icon always available (on desktop in this case) is great

However, having it popup a text on hover is (at least for me) very annoying because I trigger that too often just by just moving the mouse over it "by mistake".

Maybe a click should be necessary to activate the shield icon, and / or the text could vanish when the mouse get out of its area?

At the moment one is obliged to click on the close button to make the text popup disappear.

@MatLebrun thanks for the feedback, it makes a lot of sense and design team agree on this issue, it doesn't need to activate on hoover, the click is more than enough to do the job and with that we are not affecting the UX of the search itself.

I would be remiss if I didn’t say that for me, the popup’s activating on hover — and BTW, it would dismiss on its own when I moved the mouse away; I never had to click the ‘close’ button — ...the popup’s activating on hover was very nice . now there’s a bit more friction when I have to up or downvote a site — which is something I do very often (to create a pleasing search experience by removing sites that are of terrible quality)

this is something were customizability would be a winning feature: obviously good for accommodating users particular idiosyncrasies, but good strategically also, for Kagi, as the more you offer customization of a product, the harder it is for a user to move away: she is more ‘invested’ in the product that she has customized, and competing products which do not offer the same customizability are a harder sell
