I didn't experience a lot of bad results, but from the other comments, the common trivia questions seems much better handled by wikipedia than Wolfram Alpha.

I'm experiencing inconsistencies with the triggering of the instant answers, though.

It doesn't work for me - I try the searches in the blog and the results don't look anything like those on the blog. Do you have to have some higher-tier plan to see this, or is it limited to certain regions or browsers/OS combinations?

Here NL, MacOS, tried both Firefox and Safari.

Vlad I agree that the query "BTC" should not bring up the Wolfram widget, or at least if it does should link to the crypto currency and not the page on bethanechol. This is an example where Kagi being less aggressive about showing the Wolfram widget would be helpful.

An example where I would want the ability to summon the Wolfram widget is something like “mass of carbon”, which doesn't bring up the Wolfram widget, but which I would like to see the Wolfram widget for since Wolfram tends to be good at these kinds of science questions.

I was quite impressed when I tried searching for this, and got a legit answer:

The only thing, I didn't know if the result was valid at first glance (my original search terms weren't as straight forward). It would have been nice to know what Wolfram Alpha parsed from my query - to help build my confidence. Something like their UI:

I expected the Wolfram Alpha widget to be able to find the average of an array of numbers. This is a fairly trivial task for Wolfram so I expected it to work in Kagi but was disappointed it didn't work. Not super annoying as I could just add !wolf to the query and see it on their webiste, but it would've been nice to have it inline.

I think it should also work with "sum of [x]", "median of [x]", "standard deviation of [x]", or similar queries.

Searching for famous people, I often get a weird answer (with an equals sign, so I think it's Wolfram-provided) with no more information than the Wikipedia box contains, and furthermore the way the text is wrapped leads to words being broken across lines.

Time zones searched return in an array of offsets from UTC instead of a Name (Continent/Region) or UTC+[OFFSET]
Reproduction steps:

Search: https://kagi.com/search?q=australia+timezone&r=no_region (region is not important)
Observe the return = {6.5, 7, 8, 8.75, 9.5, 10, 10.5}

kalop Huh appears like it is actually a list of timezones in the country, as in UTC+6.5 etc.

I like the way Google shows it which includes the time and name of each timezone as well:
