Rewrite rules for domains - ability to e.g. translate "reddit.com" into "old.reddit.com"

I think the visual indicator is a must, in case the user forgets they set up a rewrite rule some time ago (or, depending on how complex the rewrite rule language is, they set it up incorrectly). I feel it should be clickable, but I'm not sure what the result of clicking it should be. Initial ideas:

Remove the override, restoring original links in results
Open the UI for editing/changing rewrite rules

TeMPOraL We plan redrect to support any part of URL, not just domain. For example one might rewrite

How woud you imagine a visual indicator working here?

Maybe instead of left to right for the indicator, do top to botton?
like the new part of the url highlighted in the url and then the old, replaced part above or below it (crossed out)

Kai Concern there is it would take two lines of height in the results.

Vlad maybe just highlight the replaced part and then show the old one on hover or press/click would be a solution then (if it doesn't need to be shown 100% of the time)

Kai I'd say either highlight or even, if simpler, just place an icon (warning sign, pencil, etc.) left of the URL, that means "modified by rewrite rule". Hovering would show the before, after, and name/text of rule that caused it.

TeMPOraL I think such rewrites could be achieved with uBlock Origin filter rules, but I haven't figured out how yet.

Redirect rules have not and will not be supported by uBlock Origin (to my own disappointment!). It has been address many times on Github and Reddit.

A good "privacy alternative frontend" to add to the list is https://wikiless.org for Wikipedia results. It looks exactly the same as Wikipedia!

You can't (at least I can't) open a foreign language article and then search for something in that language. I get redirected to the english main page and have to search there. Why not just disable JS on wikipedia...
