I tried Kagi but there is some transparency issues that keep me away from subscribing

SlopStop websites is hidden (I hope you won't try to sell user contributions in the future)
Kagi Assistant system prompts (impossible to override), context management and limits, file management (As I see you don't even put files in the context) is hidden
As a result of your system prompt (which is I guess it instruct to "be short") causes too many problem with hard prompts (especially with coding and document editing)
Kagi rank metodology is hidden (which providers is more important and why?)
Kagi filter metodology is hidden (what you filter? and why)

I know Kagi is not an open-source project it's propriety, but even Google is much more transparent about this

Kagi's relationship to the user is to give them money and they provide high quality search. What would be the benefit to the user with this "transparency" and what does that mean, exactly?

Asking questions without providing examples of what exactly is being filtered or ranked incorrectly, is a bit puzzling to answer ?

JackFruit Dustin I need to know how you prioritize sources. When I search for "best python IDE" do you weight Reddit higher than Stack Overflow? Do you deprioritize sites with affiliate links? Are old forum posts ranked lower than fresh content? This lets me understand why I'm seeing what I'm seeing.

When I upload a 50-page PDF, does it actually get chunked, or are you just using RAG? If the system prompt forces "be concise," I need to know why my complex refactoring requests keep getting abbreviated answers that miss edge cases. Let me see (and optionally override) the constraints.

SlopStop relies on user blocks, but I can't see if my blocked domains influence my personal results versus the global index. Are you training on my uploads?

Okey. Google is opaque. But Google is free. When I pay for Kagi, the expectation shifts. You're selling me control and quality, not just results. If I'm paying to escape the algorithm, I need to know what algorithm I'm buying into.
