I admit that the 'g' favicon was a bit too Google-like, but the new favicon is kinda ugly and very slim. It is also very vague. I don't know if it is a ball in the middle of a racket, or a magnifier. Overall, doesn't seem nice imho. Here is a screenshot of my browser with other websites that I have open at the moment. It really feels that this new favicon is visually not fitting.
It was proposed to have the Kagi dog as favicon. If Kagi team is very into this new favicon, would it be possible to at least have the custom favicon or something like Kagi Companion that users can select the favicon from a list of presets.
The new suggestion in this thread is to allow the user to choose a favicon from a set of available favicons, similar to what Kagi is doing with the "Homepage Companions". I suggest the available options have at least these:
- colored
- gray-scaled
- with background rectangle
- without background rectangle
