Make desktop favicon modifiable or revert back to yellow/black "g" please.

With many tabs open, the other Kagi pages still have the yellow background with the black "g" logo, but the search tabs now have some magnifying glass resembling yellow or white-ish scribble on a black background. It no longer stands out and makes it less easy to find stuff back as I go about my day.

Ideally one could add favicons in one's settings, but rolling back to the old logo would make the search tabs stand out more between most sites.

Got to second this. It doesn't stand out at all, and it's even confusing at a first glance: when I first noticed the new favicon it read to me as some sort of lollipop, only when I noticed it's the Kagi tabs that have it that I realized it's meant to be a looking glass.
The old "g on yellow background" might have been bland but it stood out in the crowd, and that's very handy.

+1. The magnifying glass icon is so small it's very easy to lose track of which tab you're looking for when you know you're looking for a Kagi search tab and you have lots of other tabs open.

I admit that the 'g' favicon was a bit too Google-like, but the new favicon is kinda ugly and very slim. It is also very vague. I don't know if it is a ball in the middle of a racket, or a magnifier. Overall, doesn't seem nice imho. Here is a screenshot of my browser with other websites that I have open at the moment. It really feels that this new favicon is visually not fitting.

It was proposed to have the Kagi dog as favicon. If Kagi team is very into this new favicon, would it be possible to at least have the custom favicon or something like Kagi Companion that users can select the favicon from a list of presets.

The new suggestion in this thread is to allow the user to choose a favicon from a set of available favicons, similar to what Kagi is doing with the "Homepage Companions". I suggest the available options have at least these:

colored
gray-scaled
with background rectangle
without background rectangle

The fact I searched for this, found this post, created an account, voted and posted on it shows how much the new favicon needs changing. It looks like something from the 90's

My personal issue with the logo (subjective, yes) is that it looks wayyyy too much like a tennis racquet with a baseball in the middle, especially at the small size, and it really throws me off. I understand that all of the different Kagi products have their own favicon to differentiate, but similar to how Google still is able to use the google logo for its search product, I think Kagi should do the same.

I'm also in favour of picking from a set of available favicons, best of both worlds for everyone!

can only agree here, this is a step back from the previous Icon. I have hundreds of Tabs open and at first didn't even found my search tabs anymore. If you really wanna stick with this Icon (that has no connection to the actual Kagi) i'd rather have an option for alternative Favicons, or a way to get the old one back.

Really don't like it. Wasn't a fan of the G either because it keeps making me think "google" BUT this is worse. I can't figure out what's supposed to be IN the magnifier. It feels small.

Also, i have some low vision issues so the tiny details on this doubly don't work for me.

What I want? CUTE DOG!

It would be really nice to at least have custom favicon options, as using userscripts to change the icon to something more recognizable is unreliable on WebKit-based browsers, such as Safari and Orion. Currently I'm using old icons, but it would be great to have a settings selector for this kind of thing, so we don't have to load separate assets to have something more recognizable to older users

Additionally, Kagi has kept the original logo for some subdomains (the correct decision in my opinion, as at least they can be recognized by color, unlike the new translation and search favicons, among others)
