Setting: open links in Search app via webview or browser

+1 to this. I've found it very irritating not opening in my browser directly ever since the change. Please give us a toggle to disable the webview on search results. It's given me a compulsion to skip the Kagi app and go to my browser first before I search now

I left a review on the Kagi app calling out this problem. I got a response today asking me to update as this feature was rolling out today. As of time of writing this is still an issue. I don't see anything new, the same new tab option that's been broken for a month is unchanged.

I received the update today and it doesn't work. Toggle is activated but links still open in webview. And this gets really annoying when you have to open a PDF file on a website and no content is visible. Please fix this ASAP.

Same here. To be explicit, in the Kagi Android app (version 1.0.36), in the main "Settings" menu, is an option labeled "Open in External Browser". When this option is checked, I expect that clicking search result links will open the page in Firefox, but instead it opens it in Webview.

I tried toggling it a couple of times, to see if maybe it was inverted, but no luck; in both cases, links open in Webview instead of Firefox.

Same here: Version: 1.0.36
Option to open result in external browser is 'on' but doesn't work. It behaves like before - sticking to web view within app.

Also: still unable to get a context menu by long pressing search result links. So, not even able to copy link to paste in browser.

Yep +1 here. Switch to on or off, same behaviour. Uses internal browser.

I received an update today and it's fixed now.

techtrest_40528 Same here. I saw your message, went to the Google Play Store and saw there was an update available for Kagi. Installed it, opened Kagi, went to Settings and toggled the setting on again. Tested a link, and it opened in Firefox instead of Webview! Huzzah! Thanks Kagi!

I can confirm too, that links now go to the browser. Thank you Kagi devs for the fix!

Is it likely that we will also be able to copy links from search results sometime soon?
