Setting: open links in Search app via webview or browser

After the last update on December 19th, the Kagi app on Android started opening links in WebView instead of the default browser.

I would like links to open in the browser, as they did before.

(if it's from Assistant or Translate, this is a known issue and will be fixed)

If you don't mind, I'd just like to mention Kagi mobile android app is no longer opening links in system browser for me either. Just noticed this but it may have been going on for a while. There appears to be no option to modify. I haven't looked at system settings that might change this but am about to.

I have observed this too with /e/os. My security tracker started reporting Kagi app as calling trackers. My browser has add blocking etc. to block most trackers. I have also set Kagi app as an exception for my VPN.
I really want the links to go to my browser.

Allpw opening of links in external browser on android

Clicking on a link either in search or assistant opens the link in default browser and NOT using an internal browser.

This gives users control and privacy (which should be by default).

Furthermore, your internal browser doesn't play nice with VPNs further decreasing security and privacy.

It should be a simple toggle.

Yeah this changed for me too. I would prefer if there were an option to have search result links open in WebView or the system browser. Many other apps do this and it doesn't seem like it should be particularly difficult.

I'd just like to add another vote for defaulting to opening links in whatever is set as the default browser on Android. Of late, I find myself avoiding the app to be able to use the browser for browsing instead of the Kagi app.

Also, I am unable to find a way to copy the link from any search result to open it in a browser instead. So, it's become quite an undesirable situation.

+1 this is a privacy and usability issue. It should be configurable and default to using the system browser.

I see that this is tagged as a 'suggestion' but I'd like to note that it used to work fine earlier and that this behaviour is new. So, it's more a report of a 'regression' or 'bug' from my perspective, rather than a suggestion.
