This is a sample query, using a DOI for the request:

The cool thing is (I built a simple citation generator for my personal needs around it), that OpenAlex stores different IDs, so it is quite easy to get the PubMed ID using the DOI or vice versa or the open access URL (here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7612221).

Slightly off topic, but I find the current academic lens misleading, to me it appears as "search for papers and other academic resources", not "search .edu domains + some universities".

The search "high performance sparse polynomials" with the academic lens, while it returns the paper I wanted, it does not return the original source, https://ir.lib.uwo.ca/etd/5593/ . A normal kagi search returns this as the top result.

Jake-Moss This should probably go as a bug report into another thread. Academic means academic sources, not necessarly papers (PDF lens might be better suited for that)

It might be a good idea to take a look at Inciteful (https://inciteful.xyz/). Inciteful is an open source tool which aggregates data about scientific literature from many sources and in my opinion is quite competitive with google scholar in terms of quality of results. Maybe Kagi can use some of the open source components of Inciteful, or partner with them to provide better academic results.
