Syrian Arab Republic is no longer subject to sanctions

I work for the United Nations Disengagement Mission in Syria. Kagi is still blocked. The Trump Administration has lifted the sanctions on IT in Syria. Please stop blocking here.

I expect to be unblocked. Apple, Samsung, Zoom, and Meta have resumed operations after export restrictions in the US were eased.

We (Kagi) do not block anything. That is entirely controlled by Google Cloud Platform where most of our services are hosted.

I will forward this ticket to our infrastructure team to see if it could possibly be escalated to them.

If possible, could you provide a screenshot of what you see when you try to open https://kagi.com ? That could help narrow down the issue.

The response I get is this. On my work machine I cannot use a vpn.

Error: Forbidden
Your client does not have permission to get URL / from this server.

Sounds like the issue needs to be sent to Google. It looks like Cloud services has not got the memo yet.

pjharper yeah, it's a Google Cloud Platform problem unfortunately,
You can try various vpn services, some of them do work but we obv can't guarantee that a specific vpn server will stay working, it's not controlled by Kagi.
Quickly asked in our community Discord and people tend to say that proton's vpn service generally works with kagi

You could try using Kagi via Tor, that shouldn't be blocked https://help.kagi.com/kagi/getting-started/accessing-via-tor.html
