Feedback on the new Quick Answer experience

How can I turn of the "Quick Answer" button?

I don't want AI functionality. Stop adding it without user consent (opt-in).

Hey everyone, thank you very much for all the feedback. We reviewed it and outlined a few changes that should address most of your points. These changes should be live by the end of this week.

Note, fix for the Quick Answer bug where it fails to trigger when a question mark is used will be live ASAP

Turaiel Partially agreed – also: toggling the quick answer setting at https://kagi.com/settings/ai should at minimum remove the floating Quick Answer button on mobile, as that seems to be the equivalent to the old mode.

Luis Are these “partial revert” changes already live now? I’ve just had a friend – who I’ve originally recommended Kagi to! – ask what was up with the Quick Answer experience on mobile, and whether there was a setting to toggle back to the old style…

I want to be able to use the "?" quick answer like I did before, but without it hiding the normal search results below it

The current experience is as if I'm reading without my glasses on, I'm missing important information. I don't want an AI only search page

I do not think disabling the "?" Quick answer would be an acceptable solution for most people, at least the ones in this thread since it sounds to me as if we all liked using the old quick answer on mobile.
If you add the ability to scroll past the bottom you may aswell just let us choose between the old and the new version.
But if you make it seamless like it was before then I think this could actually be great.

Jesal I agree, could we go back to the old quick answer? On the mobile it's difficult to navigate away from this new format. It's additional friction. The old way I easily knew beforehand which route I intended on taking by easily adding a question mark or omitting it. Now its a lottery and requires extra steps for me. It's also slower I find. Could it not just work the old way, with the addition of an option quick answers button (with default on/off/auto) for the non-"power user" that don't use the question mark.

I have just noticed the floating Quick Answer button on the mobile site. I detest LLMs and I don't want them involved at all in my search experience. I chose to support Kagi because, even though they have these features, I have always had the ability to turn them off. With this change, I can no longer hide Quick Answer fully.

I need either an option to disable this button, or better yet, an option to fully disable AI tools. It seems like others in this thread agree.

I need less AI slop in my life. That's one of the reasons I originally subscribed to Kagi. I stuck with it even though they partnered with Brave which I strongly feel was not a responsible move. I stuck with it even though they do not have solid GDPR policies and were blocked at my workplace as a result. Shoving AI in my face with no option to disable it is getting me very close to the final straw.

I love Kagi and I want it to be successful. I feel it's helping me take back the web. Please fix this.

Hello, I want to disable quick answer, I had intentionally set up CSS to block all Kagi "AI" features and you're circumventing my CSS blocks by moving stuff around like this.

It's very, very funny to me your "AI" pane has a switch to remove "AI slop" from results but there's no off switch for the AI slop produced by kagi.com itself.

marc-eu Agreeing with this. I really don't want access to any AI features at all. Accidentally clicking "summarise" (who wants to read things anyway huh?) or whatever is a waste of natural resources.

Kagi search results sinking like titanic, get this shit off the page. Learn opt-in and quit adding crap to the search results. We use Kagi because the extra BS is google shit which we don't want. I'm tired of having to contact support every week cause you are forcing more crap on me. The end for Kagi is in sight. I will not keep paying you to do this to me.

Fix is working great for me on mobile. Especially glad to see “Show Less” is sticky to keep the assistant prompt suggestions hidden. Thank you!
