However, your initial claim was that IVPN, a commercial VPN provider, was an unbiased source for comparing VPNs. How so?
nathan5950 The purpose and aspiration of every VPN should Be to endeavor to collect as little personally identifying information as possible about their customers.
As should any privacy service.
I agree with you here.
nathan5950 IVPN and Mullvad VPN Are the only ones that I've found that offer a account registration method that is truly anonymous.
Maybe, but that still does not make those two providers the only results that Kagi should know. Even positive bias is bias, and that should be avoided.
Thus, ...
nathan5950 Enable people to maybe recommend to you directly alternatives.
... what you are aiming for here is a curated web directory, not a neutral search engine. 🙂
nathan5950 This is essentially what a search engine should truly prioritize. Genuinely useful information with the customer's best interests at heart.
Kagi can't know what my best interests are. Chances are that they are different from yours. I mean, sure, you could make a list about what you think the "best VPNs" are, with a pro/contra comparison. However, your approach falls short for other things, like cars and headphones.
If there was one "best for everyone", nobody would even bother to release an alternative.
