Kagi can't find similar images, but yandex can

I'm using search by similar images time to time to find an image with better quality. However Kagi's "find similar images" feature doesn't work as well as Yandex's feature and I frequently encounter that Kagi do not find anything and Yandex find 4-5 sizes of the image of my interest.

Here is an example image:

Kagi will only say me:

We haven't found anything.
There are no results for the given query.
Try a different image.

With a lonely dog looking at the horizon, but yandex will find this image with better quality.

Kagi should be better than yandex, not worse.

One of our providers for reverse image lookup went away, so we had to replace it with a less broad index in the meantime. We are in the process of evaluating several other broader high quality APIs to resume expected levels of quality in reverse image searches; should have some updates in the next week or two!

@z64 I've noticed that for the past few days, image search has been completely broken; even a screenshot of Kagi's own logo yields no results. Wouldn't it be wise to notify users about this issue you mentioned, perhaps with a banner or a notification, like a changelog?

delboni It should be fixed soon. But yeah, it was shown on the status page https://status.kagi.com/cme7npb9s006dsvf41f3b9o96 a banner might have been good yeah. Could you maybe make a seperate kagifeedback post about the idea of a banner that can be shown if there are specific outages (only shown on certain pages maybe, like only show a banner about this problem on pages that are relevant like kagi.com/images in this case
