mazen https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2020/09/29/expanded-extension-support-in-firefox-for-android-nightly/ By default, FireFox on Android only allows users to install a limited number of approved extensions. Following this guide will allow users to add the Kagi extensions to this list if they use FireFox Nightly on Android. I tried out the extension, it doesn't set Kagi as the default search engine, but it allows search in private mode to work normally as expected.
mazen Vlad I don't have experience in developing browser extensions but I suppose that the mechanism for setting the search engine for the android browser must be different from the pc version.
z64 Assuming this is possible, our extensions are open source here: https://github.com/kagisearch/browser_extensions If anyone reading has experience with this, please feel free to investigate & send a PR if capable 🙂
Browsing6853 Unfortunately, setting default search engine using an extension isn't supported at any level on Firefox mobile 🙁 https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/manifest.json/chrome_settings_overrides#browser_compatibility
