Moving from Quick Answer to Assistant

I live the Quick Answer feature, but I find it confusing that the Continue to Assistant part of it does not carry along the original Quick Answer; only my questing.

I think it would make more sense if it took the original answer (and maybe the references too) to serve as a starting point, instead of starting afresh. As it is now, I feel it defeats the concept of to "Continue". And makes it more prone to making errors where it first got things right.

Agreed, or, if this isn’t technically possible, change the language from “Continue in Assistant” to “Ask Assistant”.

When i start a thread in Kagi assistant when coming from the search bar, it automatically generates a response from the ai, sometimes its the default ai and sometimes its the last ai i used. When it uses the default ai i press the stop button because i didn't want that ai, but it still generates a full response from that ai.

My request goes two different ways. Have the option to set a default/favorite ai. To have the stop button actually stop the ai. And to have it not automatically start its response, maybe i want to phrase the question slightly differently because the default search result wasn't quite what i was looking for (hence why i go to the assistant.)
Open to any questions and or clarifications.

TomatootamoT Are you referring to the !chat bang? We actually have bangs for different models (such as !r1 for DeepSeek R1.

I am referring to the "Continue in Assistant" button when you get a "quick answer" summary, when you click on that the default ai starts automatically, and when i press stop it doesn't stop, it does the whole answer. Does this help?
I don't know how to use any of the bangs tbh.

TomatootamoT Ah I see what you mean now, I read "coming from the search bar" and assumed you meant bangs. I'll run your question by the team then. Agreed, our assistant bangs could use some better documentation, I'll see what can be done about that as well!

TomatootamoT We're implementing it to where when you click the "Continue in Assistant" button, the Quick Answer response will be the first message in the thread and nothing else will be submitted / rerun automatically. From there you can change the assistant and continue the conversation.
