Heptic This sounds like it could be a cool idea. Do you have some practical examples in mind?

Hi, I was thinking programming language spesific lenses could be stacked for example C# and Html to find more relevent solutions or possibly lenses could be created for different cusines to search for more spesific recipes or lenses could be created for different forums and a user can search through multiple at once while excluding the rest

Would be cool to also be able to change the priority of a spesific lens so for example you can have a "Tech news" lens and a "World news" lens but prioritize / adjust the rank the tech news results before world news similar to how you can adjust rank for domains already

Or mabye it could be implemented in Lens groups where you create a group of lenses that appears as a single lens in kagi but I feel that stacking them makes it more accesible so you can create different combinations quicker like in the cusine or forum example

z64 Non commercial lens stacked with discussion lens to find better discussion sites or even better, News 360 lens/similar stacked with non commercial lens to show you news sites that aren't corporate influenced. Stacking custom lenses would be even cooler.

How would stacking work UI wise?

I was thinking having a toggle button at the top left which would extend the menu horizontally when pressed and split it into 2 sections which would be Stack: and Lenses: a user can drag lenses from the right section (Their lenses) into the left (The stack)

Maybe even a save button to save a stack into a lens?

I think this way it wouldn't have the issue of hurting ux like LKD70 was saying

And possibly and depending on its order the results from a specific lens will be preferred but then you'd probably need a seperate UI for that as most people would probably just want to combine lenses.

As to how this could be implemented in the UI:

Inkeeping with the current lens' drop-down UI, have the buttons instead be checkbox options, show a "done" button at the bottom when someone has made their selection.

This could however hurt the UX of quickly selecting a single lens, an alternative would be an additional option at the bottom of the drop-down for "multi-select lenses" or something along those lines.

I've not mocked anything up, just playing with the idea.
