Images of Random Women showing up while searching in Korean

Hi, I've been using Kagi for a couple of months now. Mainly, I've been using it to find some memes in images and such. However, I've found some issues with these searching algorithms.

For example, I've tried to find some images about pineapple pizza meme. So I entered a keyword, "Italy Pineapple" in Korean. But results on top of the page was totally different from what I expected. I expected some images of pizza, pineapple pizza... like stuffs related to my keyword? But it showed images of random women on top. The strange thing is, those results disappears randomly when I leave and return to that page.

Are you showing those results on purpose just because I searched for some images in Korean? I'm saying this because those images are Korean actress and female live-stream youtubers. Which I was NOT searching for them. Just because I searched things in Korean, it doesn't mean you have to put some Korean women and K-Pop stuffs in the results to make it relevant to Koreans?

I know, it's just my wild guess, but those search algorithms definitely have some issues. I want to have some genuine feedbacks about this. I know there was a similar issue came up to this feedback page, but nobody answered. Thanks.

Hi there. Glad to meet someone here at Kagi who is a native Korean speaker.

Kagi uses several upstream providers. For image search, Yandex was recently added to Kagi [1], but I think that Yandex does not understand the meaning of keywords entered in Korean very well.

I can replicate similarly. As you can see in the image below, searching for "피자" (pizza) in Korean returns images of women primarily.

Hanbyeol Hi, I'm glad to meet you there too. So, if I understand, this is an issue because of using Yandex Image provider, not the Kagi itself. And Yandex is having trouble with understanding Korean and other Asian language like Japanese? (Because I've seen these kind of result in Japanese result also.)

I understand now. Because I was so confused about it, and I thought Kagi was doing it on purpose. So, is there anything I can do about it? Maybe just waiting for an Yandex update patch?

Unfortunately I think there's not much we can do as end users.

We could gather opinions from users in CJK, not just Korean, and ask for improvements to image search.
There are also occasional posts here asking Yandex to opt out for political reasons (because of the war in Ukraine).

Please note that I'm not a Kagi employee; I just have a contributor badge because I recently translated new Kagi features (e.g., Assistant) into Korean.
