Recently (after today's update rollout I believe) sometimes the top-right looks like this:

It seems to be at random, can't pin down what the conditions are for it to happen.

Vinushika That's exactly what I was think about asking! Because I love my custom setup but privacy search is also what I want sometimes, and as I hate using the mouse, going to the extension to switch on (and remember to switch off later) is not optimal...

Feature suggestion: A keyboard shortcut to toggle Privacy Pass on and off. Currently I have to click the Privacy Pass icon on my addon bar, then toggle the switch in the PP modal. For users without the addon pinned they'd have to open the addon menu as well. A keyboard shortcut would greatly improve the UX of Privacy Pass; perhaps ctrl+alt+p?

Not sure if previously mentioned but if it’s technically possible I’d like the option to use Privacy Pass when making searches in the Kagi mobile app!

RoxyRoxyRoxy There's an option to in the Android app if you long press on the app icon, but unfortunately the app isn't open source, so it's not something I'd fully trust in at the moment to be fully private. Hopefully that changes soon, but I don't believe the Kagi devs have commented on it

Refract9305 Ah, I use the Android app once in a blue moon (the only Android device I have is a music player), and I didn’t see the option anywhere on the iOS app.

Suggestion: It’d be nice if the extensions could automatically apply my custom CSS & settings as the page is loading. That’s the one thing keeping me from using this feature currently.

I tried Kagi a little while ago and I really liked it. I see there's plans to support Monero, but I'm wondering if there are also plans to be able to buy searches and/or tokens for a flat rate (perhaps a little over $1.67 per 100 searches, based on the $5 for 300 searches monthly plan). I personally am not a fan of subscription models, so I think it would be nice to be able to just buy a number of searches when I need more.

If there will be a way to simply buy searches, then I will definitely be making the switch to Kagi.

Also, could there ever be a feature where users can transfer search tokens between browsers with Privacy Pass? (unless there already is some workaround?) I switch between browsers a lot, so that would be very helpful for me if I were to switch.

How would you prevent abuse and someone with unlimited plan just handing out privacy pass to their buddies?

Vlad I suppose that could be an issue in that case. I was thinking from the perspective of a user who had just bought a number of searches, where it wouldn't really be abuse to distribute them. But yeah, if an unlimited plan allows for unlimited tokens then yes, I agree it's probably a bad idea.

Theoretically there could be a system (assuming tokens are already DRM protected to prevent abuse) where tokens from subscriptions still can't be copied, but individually bought tokens (if they could be bought in the future) don't have DRM protection, and could have an option to be exported through the extension and imported to different browsers or users. Although, I'm not very technical, so it might be more difficult to implement something like that than I realize.

@Vlad Right click -> Search with Kagi is broken while using Privacy Pass on Firefox. It just brings up a blank page with: "https://kagi.com/search?q=Vlad&token=insert_token_here"

which version of firefox are you on
check in the firefox settings what url you have (the one with the %s in it) for kagi in the search engines section.
does the extension say it's ready like here?

Just wanted to say I am running into the same thing.

Firefox version: 141.0.3.
Privacy Pass does say its ready.
I added Kagi as a search engine through the default mechanism, which does not allow you to edit it (so I can't see the URL being used). If you know of an internal way either through the local profile files, or perhaps in another of the about:* pages, I would be glad to share.

If it helps, I can provide a video showing it happening. It reproduces 100%. It looks like the extension stopped the search from being started, you can go to the address bar and hit enter and the URL works 100%. I cannot hit refresh or its keyboard shortcut to get it to fire off though.

I'm getting "Not authenticated" when trying to use Kagi Translate with Privacy Pass enabled, it's very annoying have to turn it off just to use Kagi Translate.

This happened months ago and then it was fixed and now this issue is back.

I am using the Brave Browser on Aggresive Mode.

The idea behind the Privacy Pass is really good. However, it would be an advantage if you could make some optional settings for language and content filtering in the browser extension.

This is because adult content is not displayed when using Privacy Pass.

dooglius if it helps at all with the issue I'm hitting, I can see via developer tools in Tor Browser that the response to my privacy pass searches is HTTP 500, which appears as a blank screen as a result. I do also see it sending an authorization token in the request. Happy to assist with any further debugging info if it can help.

Just posting a little update.
We've released a new version which should resolve the ready_tokens.pop error as seen above.
The version is 1.0.6, and is live on Firefox and Chrome stores.

I've been having problems using Privacy Pass recently. Today, for example, I keep getting "Token generation failed. Are you online?" even when I'm most definitely online (and logged into my Kagi account). For the last week, Privacy Pass has repeatedly shown off-and-on "error" status (but NOT the "ready_tokens.pop" line mentioned by pixel).

I'm using Orion RC. I can't contact Kagi support from my Kagi account page because when I click on "Contact Support" in the Kagi Control Center, nothing happens.

If anyone at Kagi reads this, thanks for all your great work. I use Kagi exclusively for search (and Orion browser 99% of the time). It's better with each iteration.
