I just ran into a situation where this would be useful, and found this thread.
I think if this is implemented though, it should be VERY different to how ChatGPT does it, which is a terrible global setting.
What I'd like, is in a new thread, the ability to toggle basically a RAG function, that will reference past chats with a specific tag or tags (or just all).
For example 90% of my chats I just leave as temporary to clear after 24 hours. But I regularly store useful ones under different tags for future reference if the responses were particularly useful.
So being able to start a new thread and select the "Active Directory" tag, disable web search, and type something like, "Show me from the context the steps that resolved blah situation 3 weeks ago." And then have it access those past chats to give me the data. That would be very useful.
As for anyone who may be concerned about privacy, it comes down to the basic fact that AI itself isn't evil, it's just most companies find being evil with it more profitable. It's easy to apply something like this in a non evil way,, which is the benefit of Kagi AI services in general - not being evil.
For that matter, the ability to link with Notesnook and use specific notes, tags or notebooks with RAG would be awesome too.
