Can't permanently disable "Verbatim" mode

On every search "Verbatim" mode is on. I want Verbatim off but when I deselect it the deselection does not persist to my next search.

For example, I type "something", Kagi takes me to https://kagi.com/search?q=something, and "Verbatim" is highlighted. If I click the dropdown, "Verbatim" has a tick next to it. When I untick it, "Verbatim" becomes unhighlighted, the search URL becomes https://kagi.com/search?q=something&verbatim=0, and "X Clear" appears on the right of "Advanced".

The next time I search for something else, it uses "Verbatim" again and I'm back to the beginning. How do I get my deselection of "Verbatim" to stick?

This is making Kagi almost unusable for me.

I noticed Kagi behaving strangely in the last few weeks and I suspect that because my Verbatim setting has become stuck due to this feature: https://kagifeedback.org/d/5104-option-to-not-have-verbatim-setting-saved-between-sessions. It is supposed to revert to Verbatim off between searches, but it seems like, for me at least, it is reverting to Verbatim on.

Hey, could you check the state of the verbatim mode setting in your Kagi settings: https://kagi.com/settings?p=search?

tome I still think it would be helpful, when Kagi is in verbatim mode and returns no results, to add a message like "You are in Verbatim mode. If you want to see more results please disable it.".

Could you make a suggestion for that? It does indeed sound like it would improve the user experience.
