Searching in region "France" returns Canadian and Begium websites

Run a search for "auvent motorisé" for region France. And notice half the results are not from France. And even very obvious ones, like domains ending in .be or .ca.

This is clearly not filtering by region France at all, french at best.

Rant: I literally subscribed to Kagi a few minutes ago because Google and DuckDuckGo have the same issue and I thought Kagi was going to be better. Turns out the results are 99% identical to both Google and DuckDuckGo so far.

I can confirm this happens as well. Setting the region to France (FR) does give quite a few results from French Canada and elsewhere.

I also tested the same search term using CA - fr and the results all appear to be pretty well contained to Canada.

There are 3 from Québéc though. We'll look into it.

Clicking this link, on the first page, intermingled, I count:

France: 12
Canada: 7
Belgium: 1
China: 1
Italy: 1

The search is about "motorized awnings". Those things that unrolls to shade from the sun.

The french search terms:

"auvent motorisé": Appears to be more popular in Canada. Matches results in Belgium, France
"store banne motorisé": Mostly matches result in France. This is also the preferred term in France.

So using the french from France flavor (dialect? I am no linguist) does yield significantly more appropriate results with the search region of France.

I don't expect Kagi to correct/suggest the flavor/dialect. But I would at least expect it to priorities heavily the .fr TLD for example.
