      Kate-Karui If I wasn't reading this thread I would not know why context might be needed, maybe there could be a question mark tooltip hover explaining what adding context does?

          Kate-Karui Thanks! Placement looks fine but that placeholder text does not feel adequate. Can you come up with better wording? Also we need to have in mind that most users most of the time will not need to use it.

              knowing that it is one.

              There's multiple reasons, to either get the right feeling from the translation based on the context it's from or get more information and accurate translation when the translator now knows more specifically how the feeling and the translation should factor in.

              But your idea of having a question mark there telling how it works would work wonders I think.

                  Lynatic It is not universally true. I think google/bing may be doing it for a few languages only as it may be tricky to detect all possible languages.

                  Also what if you are not an english speaker ? (the query is basically "ice cream shop english" but in serbian).

                  Google clearly struggles.

                  We opted to use word translate as a trigger for this reason. Happy to consider changes but it should probably be a new feature suggeestion with details.

                      Vlad Maybe something simple like this then?

                      Was just thinking based on the context you could get a completely different feeling from the translation or a more accurate one.

                      If it knows it's from a video game it could translate more "video game" like. Or if it knows that the context is about a resturant it could put that into the translation when the original text doesn't mention the resturant specifically.

                      I feel it could be an easy way to guide the translator if one feels like the translation isn't exactly how they imagined it.

                      I'm still brainstorming this idea myself, I just came up with this the other day and still thinking of the best way to implement this.

                          Kate-Karui As @Vlad said it's not a feature that would be used all the time, maybe instead of a constant box that takes up a decent amount of screen real estate it could have a toggle button inline with the other buttons?

                            Kate-Karui I think it should be intuitive what is used for and how /why should they use it. I do not think it achieves it yet but thanks for thinking through it.

                                Or maybe this is better?

                                I'm currently brainstorming a lot and unsure exactly how I should take the direction, since I think this would be really really good for the translation part. It would be tremendously useful for me.

                                  Kate-Karui I personally think this is the better of the options, like I said having a box on there all the time is a lot of screen space for a feature that relatively few people would use lol

                                      Looking at the English->Hungarian translator it's mellowing the profanities, like turning "fuck" into "franc" which has the same vulgarity as "hell". Or "Take another fucking step, motherfucker." -> "Tegyél meg még egy rohadt lépést, te rohadék." ("Take another damned step, you bastard")

                                      Excelente traductor, mejor que DeepL pero aún debe limar algunas asperezas. Las cuales están reflejadas en la foto que adjunto.
