Model consults ResearchAssistant and never prints a response

Assistant keeps telling me that it's going to get information for me, but never does. If I copy the question to a new thread, the Assistant usually looks up the information right away. As a result, it's hard to dig deeper into a topic or change subject within the same thread. This happens to Claude and GPT. I haven't tried others.

I would like the Assistant to look up information instead of telling me that it can look up information.

I'm trying to do a research with assistant. I ask it a few data, it provides me with answers. I then ask additional data, it tells me it needs to "fetch for additional data. Please hold on for a moment", but it never completes the query.

This happens both with gpt4o and gpt4 turbo.

I expect the assistant to fetch the data and return it to me. Also I expect some indicator showing that the assistant is working in background.
