Switching tabs triggers search

My apologies if this is the intended behavior.

Typing in the search box then switching tabs (e.g, clicking "Images" or "Web" below the search box) causes a search to be triggered, even if we didn't press the search button and we didn't press Enter.

My wife spotted this issue because she searched something on Kagi Images, then edited her search to something else, changed her mind and clicked on "Web", expecting her original search query to be used.

I was able to replicate this issue on both desktop (on two different computers) and mobile.

When switching tabs without pressing the search button, we would expect the original search query to be used.

Benjamint22 Hi! This is intended behaviour. Do you find it counterintuitive?
If I understand your example correctly, your wife searched for xyz in Kagi Image Search and then modified her query to xyz w. When she switched to a web search, she expected it to revert to the original xyz query, ignoring her latest changes?

Maybe this could be a toggle in the user settings to switch the behavior. 🤔

Yes, she expected only the search button or the "Enter" key to update her active query, but the "Web" button both changed her tab and updated the active query.

I do also find it counterintuitive, but that's just my personal opinion 🤷
