The "Thread Saving" option controls how longs threads are kept if not pinned in the new Kagi Assistant UI.
Currently the options available are:
- 24 Hours
- Forever
I propose that at least one option is added that is longer than 24 hours, to avoid threads being expired exactly when they might be needed again.
While 24 hours sounds like a reasonable number of hours for a user to refer back to a thread, I suggest that users are most likely to want to re-use a result around 24 hours later.
For example:
- A recurring work task is likely to come up again about 24 hours later.
- People stop work and do other things at the same time each day.
"24 hours" might be understood as "1 day", but when you come back the next day it's gone 🙂
Anything over 24 hours: 36 hours, 48 hours, etc, would resolve this specific threshold. You can argue the same applies at 48 hours or any further days.
