Character escaping option for quick bangs

I was searching for information about an E-bike called, "YT Decoy elite". When I enter the name of the bike in my Brave Browser (Kagi is the default search) it takes me to YouTube search and videos rather than the normal Kagi results. Is it something to do with, "YT" in the search request or a setting change I might have made?

Could "YT" be a shortcut setting for YouTube?

You probably added yt to the quick bangs?

At the bottom of this page: https://kagi.com/settings?p=search

Normally bangs work by prefixing it with an exclamation mark e.g. !yt decoy elite this would take you to the youtube search, but if you add it to the quick bangs you can now use this bang without the exclamation mark, exactly the behaviour you currently have

It's probably what Value7609 said. I had the same problem last week. I wonder if we could get an option to escape characters, so that in the event we actually DONT want to use bangs in the search query we could just type the bang and not get redirected.

johen Hey, for now, I suggest disabling quick bangs or using more extensive ones. I'll rename this thread and mark it in review to determine if this issue affects many users.
