Clicking "Apple" under directions opens Google maps

It opens Google Maps

Clicking Apple Maps under Links opens Apple Maps.

It should open Apple Maps, not Google Maps when I click Apple Maps? 🙃

It opens Apple maps for me in orion / safari browser, in chrome it is asking me

What browser are you using?

I'm on Firefox. Tried it in private window, same thing. The URL link showing up in the tool tip shows and Apple URL.

Tried it on Edge, same thing, sends me to Google Maps, even though the link is Apple Maps..

Edit: Tried it on my phone as well, same thing. Same if I disconnect from my home network and use the cellphone network.

Can it be because I'm in Norway? Is Apple location dependent.

Tried using a VPN in the US, still getting sent to Google. Lol

Shows the same "google" for me on discord. WhatApp client shows apple maps again 🤷

The difference between the link and redirect seems to be that the redirect uses "?daddr=" and the links URL is "place?q=".

If I manually change the Links URL to use daddr instead, it redirects to Google and vice versa.

Ah, so it's a way for Android to open Google Maps since it doesn't have Apple Maps.

Would be cool if Kagi on Windows desktop could open Apple Maps URL, and not default to Google Maps. Maybe a setting?
