Grok Support

Adding Grok as an additional ai chat option. It will be useful for the user experience in order to get up to date information. Example shown below (prompt was asked on May 23, I have no clue what Claude 3 Opus was doing)

I can see a user changing their chatbot for really current information since that is a skill many other chatbots simply lack at the moment. It is also surprisingly accurate and doesn't hold an overly strong bias in either direction (despite what you would initially think). There doesn't seem to be many implementations from other apps but there does appear to be an API and SDK.

alexchadwick Grok Has internet access, Opus does not. If you want a model with internet access in Assistant, you can use Research assistant.

Vlad Oh that makes sense lol (I just started using this yesterday so I am still figuring all the features out). Still Grok has a really current dataset for certain events (such as the New York Earthquakes that since many people will go to X to post what happened, but news outlets might take up to 30 mins to get stories out). Isn’t some super important but is a nice to have.

It'd personally prefer it Kagi didn't give money to Elon Musk (someone had to say it) but yeah.

IMO I like that Kagi avoids getting involved in culture wars and other similar things, and I suggested it because Grok is a good model. I get the whole thing about not wanting to support someone you don't like, but then just don't use it and then xAI wont get any API fees and allow people who like the model to use it. I am not willing to die on this hill, but it would be a really nice add. On another note, I recently got access to Perplexity Pro and I noticed that it included Grok 2, I don't know the API costs but I imagine they can't be that high if Perplexity is willing to add it as an option. According to their blog post (https://x.ai/blog/api) they are adding image support next week into their api so it should be able to fit perfectly with the other options built into Kagi. If the API includes Grok 2 Mini, that might be a nice option in the event quick answer gets LLM options in settings.

In my limited experience with Grok 2 it uses different "way of talking", so the generated text doesn't immediately scream "generated by LLM".

I would also like to see Grok 2 used here. I think it would be another good option. I invested in the ultimate plan for Kagi because it gives me access to many LLM's without having to do individual plans for each one of them. This would increase that value!

If it proves to be better then it get's more $$ if not, then people won't use it as much and no loss.
