Option to disable "Code" results

In many of my queries, I am getting irrelevant "Code" results, and even when I am searching for things that have to do with code, what I really need is the pages themselves, not snippets.

I can't find any way to remove "Code" in-line results from my queries. Is that possible?

Users would be able to, for instance, in "More Search Settings" have a toggle to disable "Code" results in their search results. When it is slid "off" the "Code" widget will not appear.

I'm concerned about how many of these sorts of things Kagi is adding without an option to turn them off.

It feels like the ethos of Kagi is being lost completely here - I'm not the product. I want to be in complete control of what the search results look like.

daveoc64 Can you be more specific? This feature was added almost two years ago.

Note you can remove almost every information widget in Kagi through an option, but definitely at the very least through the custom CSS feature.

For example add

#grep {
display:none;
}

and the code block will no longer be shown.

Vlad I think a non tech-savvy user might not able to do this. And it's not user friendly as well. Imagine if I want to turn off code block or something else without a toggle, I have to open devtools, find out the css class of it and make it a vaild css style to hide it.

Vlad Not sure if this is a bug, but hiding #grep also removes all search results below it, leaving me with ... two (in the last search that contained grep results, which were large and unhelpful enough to make me search for a way to disable them).

So I second the original poster, I would very much like a "Code" toggle akin to inline images and video.

Vlad I think ideally, you should be able to turn off each of the widgets individually in the settings.

I searched for a book today ("The Glass Cage: Automation and Us") and got a code result.

A bit later I searched for "LibreOffice" and also got lots of code results.

I just searched for "smoke test" with Verbatim enabled and the only results I got was Code. I had to change the query to "smoke testing" to get definitions e.g. from Wikipedia. (Edit: I can't reproduce this rn)

I also searched for "bing down" (since the Bing API outage seems to affect other engines rn) and got a bunch of nonsensical results from Code.

I didn't have such negative experiences before, this seems like the result of some recent change.

I've been using Kagi for a couple of weeks now, and have noticed these code results appearing frequently over the past couple of days. They are appearing even on searches I would not expect to see code results. I've just searched for 'iBook G4', and get a code block that nearly takes up a full 2/3rd of the height of a 27" monitor. It would be good if this block could be disabled in a preference.

I also didn't notice these code results before, it started today for me so something must have changed. I then searched for a way to disable the code results, found nothing, and instead discovered this issue.

A way to collapse the code results would also be nice, they take up quite a bit of space.

Since recently, when searching for any term, the "code" section almost always appears. Here it is when, for example, searching "happy" (random word to prove my point):

"buongiorno" (it is a top result, immediately after the pinned results):

it has been appearing often for random words which have nothing to do with programming itself.

I'd expect that only to appear when searching something that is relevant to coding.
Alternatively, if that is impossible, could I disable that section altogether? I am not a coder.

Can confirm, seeing that here too. I just did a search for "CEO of Brave" (yeah, I know, there were reasons) and I got this entirely useless code snippet as the 4th result:

A better temp fix is this css:
#grep > .widgetContent { display: none; }
In my case (using pretty much default settings), the code widget is the first occurence of widgetContent, therefore this css does not hide the other search results or the Quick Peek widget
