When using the IOS safari extension, it searches google first and then replaces the search with kagi results.

You type in the IOS safari search bar and you see google load briefly and then redirect to Kagi.

It should just search Kagi, not relay my search to google first.

jjjj That is not possible due to Apple limitations in Safari. If you do not want your queries touching Google, you can change the default search engine in Safari to something else, or use Kagi's Orion browser on iOS.

I literally just signed up to post about this. This is a very broken experience and I honestly wish I knew about it before subscribing for the pro package. I don’t want my search query to hit another search engine before it redirects to Kagi. I thought Kagi would catch all BEFORE the query goes to the other search engines. What is the point of using the extension when all queries go to your default search first before they redirect.

I also don’t want to use Orion. I want to stick with Safari.

unknownsolo Apple/Safari simply does not allow that. There are a few search engines and you can not add a new one in any way.

We invested a lot of effort the next best thing possible. We are not happy with it either, and even created an entire browser because of how big the problem is. One thing you cna do is send feedback to Apple and request Safari to include Kagi as a search option.

unknownsolo It is same with Safari aywhere. You can also try our own browser called Orion with Kagi built in.
