A nice option for the info (shield icon) would be to include a "bias meter" in it to indicate left or right leaning ideals being expressed in the content referenced. In my area of research I am finding more and more bias that I did not original detect as present. This has necessitated an enormous amount of re-evaluations in source data and material - and has led to throwing out of roughly 70% of what I had used as source material at this point. It has been a very jarring experience.
Presently I find that I have to use a very, very carefully crafted custom AI setup to detect bias that is very challenging to detect for normal AIs, but it is possible.
Having the ability to know of any potential bias going in to search results before I start to read and seriously consider data as valid or not could be very helpful.
I would envision a simple meter going from "left" to "right" in terms of alignment with social ideals when I click the "shield" icon for a search result. Clearly the searcher can do with this information as they like, but in my case I will be able to either use the resultant page readily if it ranks "middle" or I may have to read it and adjust results according to bias. Simply knowing this bias going in would facilitate much a much more ergonomic use of information vs later discovering a problem in this area.
