Boost curated high-quality review sites

Kagi should heavily boost a curated list of known, high quality review sites. For example, I have the following sites boosted or pinned: wirecutter, consumer reports, gearlab, and house fresh.

Many reviews are now falsely claiming to perform testing in order to artificially boost their rankings. I think it would be difficult to automatically determine whether a review site actually performs non paid, independent, data driven testing and reviews, especially since this is pretty rare.

But a manual audit by the Kagi team could determine this, and then that site could receive a significant boost, commensurate with the high value of such sites for searches like "best air purifier on a budget" or whatnot.

Any product search should massively boost tier-1 review sites. Searches like "best headphones", "best performing humidifier", "hiking shoe reviews", etc. Many typically high ranking websites like Forbes or CNet no longer publish high quality reviews and sometimes publish AI generated botshit, skating by on past reputation.

I personally do not trust any review site that uses affiiate links, as incentives are misaligned from the get-go. Will this site ever review a product that has no way of earning an affiliate comission, even it is superior? By the nature of incentives, answer is likely no.

I think such list could be made, but I probably disagree about the content of the list that you suggested.

I was hoping for the exact same thing. I actually signed for Kagi after reading this article: https://housefresh.com/how-google-decimated-housefresh/. Coming here and finding the same sites they criticize and not finding their site was disappointing.

I don't understand the problem with affiliate links. What independent research review site doesn't have affiliate links? What is the percentage of popular consumer products that aren't available at any store with affiliate links? It seems the incentives of all the top results by media owned by PE firms who have fired all humans to churn out sponsored clickbait have much much worse incentives.

bean to be fair, as a user you can easily boost/pin such sites yourself. I'm interested in the discovery aspect, where I could find new niche review sites that I don't already know about.
