I personally have no interest in Sponsorblock integration, but I do find it a little odd that it's written in the Kagi docs that "Removing advertising from the web is the way forward." and that they are now essentially [starting to]"... slow down the web, make using the web unfriendly and intelligence-insulting" by contributing to the digital ad space.
That is a bit paradoxical. One way to avoid this paradox is to invest in physical ads, as that won't technically pollute the web directly! (haha)
I've never seen any mention on their docs that they wouldn't do any paid advertising, so I guess they aren't breaking any promises there.
I feel although this is technically a conflict of interest and hypocritical, Kagi can do both advertising and ad-blocking at the same time. The majority of internet users aren't aware of ad-blocking, so Kagi ads are trying to inform them that a cleaner web exists. In the end, it's a win for both the consumer and Kagi.
Consumer->Less/No Ads
Kagi->Another customer
Users of Kagi are already using the "cleaner" web. So why would it matter to Kagi that their own service blocks their own ads(if Sponsorblock were to be implemented)?
