I found this thread while searching for this specific feature. I also searched in the Kagi documentation. I don't have a strong opinion on the specific operator, but I'd imagine that the relevant regions for most people are very limited. My default region is International but sometimes I want to restrict results to my country. I have never really needed anything else. It's also the use case I see mentioned in this thread. For my use case, a bang I create in my settings to associate a search with a region would be a really good solution.
I struggle to see a scenario where a user would need bangs/operators/shortcuts for more than a handful of regions. If that holds true, a potential resolution could simply be to allow custom bangs to optionally be associated with one (or more?) regions.
Regardless of the specific implementation, I'd love to see this feature implemented!
