Bang ignored

g is configured as a quick bang to Google. When I prefix my search with [g search] on the browser address bar, it opens Google

But when I do the same in Kagi search box, the bang appears to be ignored and the search stays on Kagi.

I currently can't reproduce this;

I set g as a quick bang
I opened Kagi homepage
Typing in g foo in our search bar sends me to google
Opened a search page
Typing g foo in our search bar there as well sends me to google

Could you send a video of what you are experiencing? That may help clear things up.

Additionally, if the quick bang is correctly configured, you should see the following in our suggestion box:

Do you have google set as your default search engine?

No, I am using the iOS Safari Kagi extension and the default search engine in Settings > Safari > Search Engine is Ecosia

Are you able to do the same search on Google directly?

nobodywasishere No! Going to Google.com and doing the same search for [foo] redirects to Kagi too. Weird.

partlycloudy Gotcha - it's definitely the iOS extension at play here if that is the case. I would ask that you double check your extension is up to date and it's still set to Ecosia - we can look into if there's some issue with saving/respecting your preferred fallback.

partlycloudy have you tried setting the default search engine in safari to ecosia and setting this also in kagi search extension settings?

partlycloudy I believe you need to set the Kagi extension to only have access to Ecosia, instead of all sites. You can check this in the extension settings. You may have to revoke all permissions and grant access to only Ecosia
