This is different than previously discussed referral programs. There would be no monetary incentive to the user.
- A user has a unique referral link
- There is a place in their profile settings that says “you’ve helped x people search less and find more”
- Another user subscribes with the link to any paid plan
- If that user subscribes for at least a month (Without canceling or requesting a refund) the referral count increases by 1
Note: If the referred person ends their subscription after the first month, the referral still counts. The goal is not to track subscription details, but simply to get people to try Kagi.
The count is a “nice to know” feature. It adds a bit of gamification and encourages people to refer others. Because there is no reward of any kind, there is no point to cheat the system.
