Problem: Top results are content farms, Solution: Give more weight to add load

Please give more weight to a page's ad load of search results in your ranking algorithm.
This would naturally push down crappy content farms.

Searching for "Vanilla Cookies" for example, the top result is just unbearably too many ads.

The ad load for this page alone should be enough to keep it out of the position 1.
Google is incentivized to put sites with GAN ads high in search results, so they don't do this. It could be a real differentiator.

Sites with high ad load, like the this one, (https://cloudykitchen.com/blog/classic-vanilla-cookies/) should not show up in search results.

OwenBrown We already do this and it means that all other pages in results are probably worse. Curiously there are only four ads/trackers on that page, which is not a lot by standards of recipes websites.

I recommend trying "Recipes" lens to get a manually curated selection of websites.

OwenBrown Try installing uBlock Origin in your browser, it works perfectly for that page. I never browse anything without at least one level of ad blocking. This one actually seems like a legit recipes site, not some chatgpt view farm

That website is fine opened in reader view that is built into the browser. Almost all recipe websites display much better in reader view.
