When using the podcast search feature within Kagi, it occasionally serves links to podcasts hosted on https://podcasts.apple.com. When I don’t have the Apple Podcast app installed, I am simply unable to visit the URL due to iOS lacking the app that understands the "itms-podcast" schema, despite the URL at a base level ultimately being something that any podcast app would understand.
But on the flip side when I do have the Apple Podcasts app installed, it will solely open those links within that app, unless I use something like the Opener app from within the share menu. This behaviour happens within Orion and Safari, as provided in my screen recordings.
The above mentioned share menu isn’t actually accessible until I install the Apple Podcast app, as its ‘Restore Podcasts?
“To continue, download Podcasts from the App Store.”’ prompt to install takes complete priority over anything else.
I expect any podcast links that are used from Kagi search to either open up in the sole installed podcast app on my device, or to instead provide a selection of popular podcast links (such as the https://pod.link/ service) in which I will use and then it’ll open up in the chosen app.
Worst case scenario, if there’s no way to combat this automated behaviour within iOS when tapping or clicking on an apple.com podcast link due to it potentially being hardcoded, then at the very least I’d like plaintext URLs underneath every podcast search result which are able to be highlighted, copied and pasted into an alternate podcast app.
