One of the essential tools for website owners and developers is the ability to quickly and efficiently get their new websites or updated sitemaps indexed by search engines. Major search engines currently offer this functionality through dedicated endpoints where sitemaps or direct website links can be submitted. This feature not only ensures that new content is promptly indexed but also helps in maintaining the relevance and accuracy of the search results.
As a regular user and supporter of Kagi, I've noticed the absence of a similar feature in its current framework. I believe that the introduction of a "Submit Sitemap" endpoint would be a significant enhancement to Kagi's capabilities. This feature would enable us to directly submit our new websites or updated sitemaps to Kagi, ensuring that our latest content is quickly found and indexed.
The benefits of implementing such a feature are multifold:
- Enhanced Visibility: Newly created websites or updated pages will gain faster visibility on Kagi, aiding in better user engagement.
- Improved Search Accuracy: Regular updates to the sitemap submissions would help Kagi maintain up-to-date search results, enhancing the overall user experience.
- User Empowerment: This feature empowers website owners and developers by giving them direct control over how quickly their content is indexed.
- Competitive Edge: Offering this feature aligns Kagi with other major search engines, potentially increasing its attractiveness to web professionals.
In conclusion, adding a "Submit Sitemap" feature would not only be beneficial for website developers and owners but would also enhance the overall effectiveness and user experience of Kagi. I strongly advocate for the consideration and implementation of this suggestion. Thank you for your attention to this proposal.
Some only expose and endpoint and others such as bing and google have entire dashboards. I know they don't update it instantly, but the piece of mind knowing they were notified of our update is good enough for me.
