Issue: Kagi up-boosts or even pin official sites when they exists.
Sorry in advance, this post contains a lot pictures.
For example:
Search for "palemoon browser performance". Obviously, I want to get the performance perspectives regarding palemoon browser.
And below was the result from Kagi:
first part:
second part:
You can see that, the first part was filled with irrelevant official site links. And the second part started to be relevant.
In this scenario, it's non-sense to boost the official site because NONE of the "official" links in the result has something to do with "performance", which I was searching for.
I even set 'reddit' to be boosted in the settings, but it was still beaten by the official site.
FYI, below were the results from Google & StartPage:
Google:
Google down-boosted official links.
StartPage:
I really appreciate the layout of StartPage here. It extracted relevant links (i.e., Wikipedia, Official Sites, ...) to the widget, instead of mixing all these things with actually relevant results.
I have no idea how Kagi works. I don't know how Kagi determines which site is relevant or not. If you can't gauge the content relevance properly, maybe you can learn from StartPage to extract official links to the widget instead of letting it taking up that much space.
