Can you explain the reasoning behind needing to set Safari to default to a search engine "you never use" when setting up the new Kagi Safari Extension? I think I understand why, but I would definitely appreciate a more explicit explanation that also explains the privacy implications.
FWIW, the new extension appears to be significantly faster at redirects, so I'm a big fan.
I am suggesting clarification in the App and potentially in the App Store description to explain the reasoning behind setting Safari to default to a search engine "you never use."

The App Store description hints at the reason why ("some requests may still be sent to your default search engine") but I think privacy-conscious users might appreciate a more explicit explanation.
